new clothing line launch
hey you guys, someone near and dear to my heart just launched a small shirt line. they are awesome, i’ve got the dark denim one, it looks good with leggings, a maxi dress and heels (trust me), or more denim.  best part is it actually keeps a small girl warm. website: www.madeinlieu.com press: http://www.dailycandy.com/new-york/article/127381/Made-in-Lieu-Simple-Shirts-for-20

wisdom teeth, and a proper good bye to new york
My dad used to point at the ladies walking for exercise in my suburbs; when I was little, he’d slow the car down, look at me in the rearview mirror, and say, “she’s a walker” and then laugh.  Well, I’m officially a walker - at least this week. It's so hot I'm frozen
This heat is killer. New York City absorbs it and spits it back out, concrete radiating - no, vibrating. It’s so hot my veins feel full, my fingers sticky.    But I’ve noticed that sometime around 8 pm every night the city softens.  The sun is no longer sharp.  Someone’s unfocused the scene.  It’s like when, in 11th grade photography, we used to place a piece of nylon...

Overheard on the Subway
Mother: [Spanish Spanish Spanish] Son: I spit on the white cop.  Mother: [More adamant Spanish Spanish Spanish] Sister: [Giggle.] Son: He was a cop for the 44th precinct.  See he was like, “what’s your name, son?” [Raising voice.] And I said “XX,” and he said “what’s your name?”  [Raising voice again.]  And I said, “XX” again, and...
